BENEFIT MAPPING
Imagine a branch manager presenting a number of reasons for initiating and benefitting from a project, critically important to his/her local office. While not dismissing immediate advantages, senior management may like to investigate further, potentially viewing the project in a larger context.
Benefit mapping allows management teams an opportunity to examine whether a particular set of problems for solution also reflects actual challenges, or if they originate from a completely different source. If so, the project may be carrying other reasons for completion, and may potentially need others to co-finance it.
